Min: Clean Russian oil to arrive at Mozyr refinery Thu–Fri

MOSCOW, Apr 30 (PRIME) -- Clean Russian oil is expected to arrive at Belarus’ Mozyr refinery via the Druzhba pipeline approximately on Thursday–Friday, while normalization of quality of oil being delivered to the port of Ust-Luga is expected on May 7, a spokesperson for the Energy Ministry told reporters late Monday.

“Today, in accordance with the schedule, oil fully complying with technical regulations arrived at the Unecha linear production dispatch station around 12:00 and to the border with Belarus around 5:00 p.m. A delivery of quality oil to the Mozyr refinery is expected approximately on May 2–3 (Thursday–Friday). Normalization of quality of oil delivered to the port of Ust-Luga is expected on May 7,” the spokesperson said.

The problem with the quality of oil coming from Russia to Belarus via the Druzhba pipeline appeared last week. As oil contaminated with chlorides moved through the pipes, Poland stopped receiving oil from Druzhba on April 24, and Ukraine on April 25. The operators of the Russian, Belarusian, Polish and Ukrainian sections of Druzhba met in the Belarusian capital of Minsk on April 26 to discuss the mechanism to clean the pipeline system from the contaminated oil.
